Two friends approached Path Architecture with a vision of shared living within an urban environment. Based on the group’s mutual interest in outdoor life and simple expression, the twin homes balance well the requirements of the clients, the site and Portland’s climate.

Using a straightforward structural design and balanced fenestration, the home’s depth and richness was realized through an eye to detail. The homes and the interior cabinetry were built by the skilled owners, one of which a partner at Altura Furniture. The windows, doors and Larch siding were fabricated by the owner’s brother in Austria and shipped to the site. Innovative details, robust hardware and a 1” thick rainscreen siding ensure the houses will last hundreds of years.
